143Helena Bonham Carter first gained attention back in 1985 as a young ingénue in the Merchant-Ivory production A Room With A View. Twenty five years later, the actress has given first rate work in films like Howard’s End, The Wings of the Dove, Fight Club, and Conversations with Other Women. Much of Bonham Carter’s work in the past decade has dealt with fantasy, thanks to the Harry Potter films and her collaboration with director/fiance Tim Burton. Carter plays the Red Queen in Burton’s latest feature Alice In Wonderland, and she explains why co-star Johnny Depp (he plays the Mad Hatter) is a kindred spirit.
