ABC News program, 20/20 has an interesting report planned for tonight on mental illness in adolescents.

Haywire will examine children living with schizophrenia and the challenges it presents for the families living with a child suffering from the condition.

ABC News correspondent, Jay Schadler will share stories of three California girls: 7-year-old Jani Schofield, who has already been diagnosed with schizophrenia, Rebecca Stancil is a 9 year old, who has tried to commit suicide and Brenna Wohlenberg, a 13-year-old girl, who fears she’ll hurt her beloved dogs and little sisters because of her psychotic behavior.

Much of these intricate details are caught on camera. But, the segment will also cover the current treatments available as well as updates on the medical community’s understanding of the disorder.

20/20 is set to air 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
