Valentine’s Day produced more than hearts and flowers for Warner Bros Pictures. Over the weekend, the romantic-comedy pulled in an estimated $52,410,000 in revenue. Was it a general romantic mood from moviegoers for the Valentine’s Day weekend? Was it the all-star cast? Whatever the catalyst, Valentine’s Day grabbed some pretty amazing numbers considering the reviews have been lukewarm for the flick.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightening Thief followed in second place with 31.1 million and Universal’s monster remake, The Wolfman managed third place with $30,627,000.

Avatar is still showing tremendous legs at the box office with an estimated weekend take of $22 million. That brings the domestic total to $659,605,000 in just nine weeks.

Dear John, which was the box office champ last week with $32.4 million dropped to fifth place and had a 49-percent decline in revenue to $15,300,000.

Rounding out the top 10:

6. The Tooth Fairy $5,600,000

7. From Paris with Love $4,740,000

8. Edge of Darkness $4,585,000

9. Crazy Heart $4,000,000

10. When in Rome $3,429,000
