You’ve probably noticed that 3D movies have been all the rage lately. Films like Avatar, Jonas Brothers: the 3D Concert Experience, Nightmare Before Christmas and The Final Destination are just a few of the titles that gave 3D a new and improved name in 2009.

Director Ron Howard and his producing partner Brian Grazer have had a hand in a number of blockbuster movies that would be nothing short of dazzling in 3D. Think what Apollo 13 would look – and feel like = using that medium. And Howard is acutely aware of how technology has advanced over the last couple of years.

Still, Howard is just happy to have an audience…and how his content reaches the masses is of little importance to the filmmaker.

Besides, Howard sees an equal amount of growth in television, where he’s been stretching his own artistic muscles. His new series, Parenthood (based on his successful movie of the same name) is about to hit primetime and that dramady is designed to raise the limits of creativity significantly.

Click onto video for Ron Howard’s assessment of 3D technology vs. television growth.

Parenthood debuts Monday, March 1st, 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
