
Producer, David Brown died Sunday in New York, it was revealed today. Brown was instrumental in catapulting the movie careers of not only Elvis Presley with Love Me Tender, but Steven Spielberg with both The Sugarland Express and Jaws.
Brown had a glut of films to his credit including the Oscar-winning flick, The Sting as well as A Few Good Men and Chocolat.
The famed producer was married for over 50 years to Cosmopolitan Editor, Helen Gurley Brown, who is his only survivor.
Along with his producing partner Richard D. Zanuck, Brown was awarded the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1990.
A public funeral is being held Thursday at the Frank E. Campbell Chapel in New York.
David Brown was 93 years old.
