The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for this year’s Academy Awards and with 10 nominees for Best Picture, the field was dramatically different.

The battle of the exes - former spouses, James Cameron and Kathryn Biglow led the pack for their movies, Avatar and The Hurt Locker respectively with nine nominations, including Best Picture and Director nods. Actually Cameron and Bigalow are good friends and supportive of each other’s work.
