On this day in 1981, Universal Pictures released THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING WOMAN. LILY TOMLIN starred in this silly comedy about a woman exposed to chemicals that caused her to shrink thus making her life as a wife and mother almost impossible. Along the way, she gets involved with daffy scientists, politicians and people trying to take over the world. Written by JANE WAGNER (TOMLIN’S longtime partner) there are still a few moments in the film that hold up.
