Mel Gibson is back in front of the lens for the first time in eight years starring in a leading role as a homicide detective investigating the death of his activist daughter in Edge of Darkness. It’s a character the Braveheart star has played before: cop, widower, vigilante with a gun. That’s not a bad thing, just not exactly what we supposed Gibson would have chosen for his big acting comeback.
