So you think you can dance? Well, then the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences wants you…to audition for the Oscar telecast.
Open dance auditions will be held Friday, January 22nd and Saturday, January 23rd in Burbank, CA.
Producers are looking for both professionals and unknowns – as long as you can dance – you’ve got a chance. Has this got Producer Adam Shankman’s So You Think You Can Dance fingerprints all over it or what?
It’s sounding more and more like this year’s Oscars are going to be unique to the franchise. Shankman and his producing partner, Bill Mechanic are not just looking for dancers, but specialists in contemporary and hip-hop styles.
Interested dancers, ages 18 to 30, must show up at the appointed days and times for an opportunity to land a dancing gig for the Academy Awards telecast.
