Who could forget Madusa going head-to-head with the Kraken (with the help of Perseus, of course) in the original 1981 Clash of the Titans? What about that all-star cast that included Laurence Olivier, Claire Bloom, Maggie Smith and a very young Harry Hamlin? And those special effects from legendary stop-motion animation creator and Titans Producer, Ray Harryhausen! Man, that was inspired .
So why remake a classic? From what we see from this trailer - courtesy of Warner Bros - because they can…and it looks freakin’ amazing!
Like the original 1981 version, this Titans is top heavy in special effects, but it appears the story will be as fantastical as it once was – with an impressive cast of A-listers from Liam Neeson to Ralph Fiennes and Pete Postlethwaite. Sam Worthington, who has gotten nothing but attention for his starring role as Jake Sully in Avatar, won the pivotal role of Perseus for the remake.
We can hardly wait for this Clash of the Titans to debut March 26th of this year.
