On this day in 1965, UNITED ARTISTS released THUNDERBALL. Directed by TERENCE YOUNG, this movie was the fourth installment in the uber-popular JAMES BOND series based on the novels of IAN FLEMING. Originally slated to be the first film in the series, the property was mired in legal disputes that held it up. SEAN CONNERY starred as Agent 007 and the supporting cast included CLAUDINE AUGER, ADOLFO CELI, LUCIANA PALUZZI, RIK VAN NUTTER, BERNARD LEE and LOIS MAXWELL.
