On this day in 1971, ABC PICTURES released STRAW DOGS. Directed by SAM PECKINPAH from his screenplay with DAVID ZELAG GOODMAN, this story of a timid man driven to violence was a real shocker for its time. The dynamic cast includes DUSTIN HOFFMAN, SUSAN GEORGE, PETER VAUGHAN, T.P. McKENNA, DEL HENNY and JIM NORTON. The flick is currently being re-imagined by director ROD LURIE and starring JAMES MARSDEN and KATE BOSWORTH.
