where-the-boys-are-posterOn this day in 1960, M-G-M released WHERE THE BOYS ARE. Directed by HENRY LEVIN from the novel by GLENDON SWARTHOUT, this Spring-Break romp carried a bit more weight than other teen comedies of its time. Set in Ft. Lauderdale during the annual teen bacchanal, this “girl’s eye view” of teen vacation was a breath of fresh air for its time. The great cast includes DOLORES HART, PAULA PRENTISS, GEORGE HAMILTON, YVETTE MIMIEUX, JIM HUTTON, BARBARA NICHOLS, CHILL WILLS, FRANK GORSHIN and CONNIE FRANCIS (singing one of the best title songs ever).
