On this day in 1970, WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS released THE ARISTOCATS. Directed by WOLFGANG REITHERMAN, this animated tale of a family of cats set to inherit a fortune from their royal owner if they don’t get ‘cat-napped’ instead isn’t considered one of DISNEY’S best animated efforts but is certainly a far cry from being ‘bad’. The voice talent includes EVA GABOR, PHIL HARRIS, STERLING HOLLOWAY, SCATMAN CROTHERS, PAUL WINCHELL, VITO SCOTI, NANCY KULP, GEORGE LINDSEY and PAT BUTTRAM. Impressive by any standard.
