On this day in 1937, actress Jane Fonda is born. The daughter of actor Henry Fonda and sister of actor Peter Fonda, Jane began modeling and acting in the late 1950s. She was nominated for Oscars for They Shoot Horses, Don’t They? (1969), Julia (1977), and took home the Best Actress award in 1978 for Coming Home. She continued to win Oscar nominations for The China Syndrome (1979), On Golden Pond (1981); her first on-screen appearance with her father, and The Morning After (1986).
