Jeff Bridges is on the fast-track for an Academy Award nomination for his performance as hard-living Country Music singer Bad Blake in the upcoming drama Crazy Heart.
It’s not the first time Bridges has gotten this sort of attention. Though he’s never taken home an Oscar, he’s been nominated four times in the acting category.
And while Bridges won’t actually entertain the idea of getting a nomination for Crazy Heart, he is quick to point out that making the movie was career high-point.

Bridges blows Clooney out of the water. I have seen Clooney’s shtick a million times. He didn’t work very hard at getting to the character.
Bridges embodied his character in a deeply felt way. The Oscar is Jeff Bridge’s.
