The debate over wether KATHRYN BIGELOW’S Golden Globe nominated film, THE HURT LOCKER, is a “war” movie or a “thriller” didn’t do the film much good at the box office. To writer MARK BOAL, it’s an action film set against the backdrop of the conflict in Iraq but to BIGELOW it’s a war movie in the most tradition sense. We spoke with the director recenty and she talked about making a film using the “ultimate canvas”. Listen in below:
