THE YOUNG VICTORIA is a lush, sumptuous retelling of the early life of England’s Queen Victoria and her romance with Prince Albert. As stodgy as that may sound, the film feels as contemporary as any modern day romantic tale and the performances by EMILY BLUNT, RUPERT FRIEND and PAUL BETTANY are as good as it gets. The film was a labor of love for producer SARAH FERGUSON who not only spent a couple of years researching VICTORIA but wanted to provide a historical wake-up call for audiences not familiar with the story.
