I absolutely adore Carrie Underwood, but that was a simply AWFUL holiday special.

I agree that the only skit that was even remotely funny was the one with Ace; the rest were literally painful to watch (very cringe-worthy). And what kind of holiday special begins with a leather dominatrix outfit and scary men doing strange dances? And it only got (much) worse from there.

I enjoyed some of the songs because I *love* Carrie’s voice, but the trappings detracted from the music rather than added anything tangible or remotely entertaining.

If Carrie wasn’t my favorite singer, I would have turned that mess off after about 10-15 minutes. Really too bad as I had high hopes for her first holiday special.

I love Carrie Underwood….but this Holiday Special was horrible. I felt like I was watching a hi-school program.
Who put this thing together….and where was Christmas?
I was hoping she’d do something like “Christmas from Oklahoma”…showing home-town, family, friends…but keep it with a total Chritmas theme…snow, sleighs, etc. & lots of Christmas music!!! HORRIBLE!!!!

This show was TERRIBLE! It was NOT funny and the entire time I was thinking, “Isn’t this supposed to be a holiday special? Where are the Christmas songs?” This special made me like Underwood much less.

I agree that Carrie lowered herself to do this show. I am in my 60’s but appreciate good music and entertainment and this was no Holiday special . It was less more like an attempt at comedy that wasn’t even funny.

Loved the show. Perfect variety show. A little for everyone, even the old farts(skipper) that just don’t get it. I’m pretty close to being an old fart too and was thoroughly entertained. It was meant to be corny and fun. Don’t you remember how corny “Sunny and Cher” was. Just perfect!!!! A+++++

We really thought Carrie was above all the vulgarity that consumed this “special.” She’s such a naturally talented young woman with beauty…but where’s the brains? To agree to do the kind of sleazy things she did in this special was so disappointing. AND…poor Dolly, what has she done to her “once beautiful” face? OMG…her mouth looks like an old lady without teeth! Sorry for all the negative We did enjoy “O Holy Night.” Yes, we’re a couple of old farts in our 60’s BUT we still have an opinion.

I have never seen such a horrible performance for the holidays, C.U., you have a great voice but keep it to the vinyl. And dear Dolly, I am surprised that you condone this type of show.
