Usher gets on the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition bus this week.  The singer donated his time to help the Scott family.  Trina Scott is a single mother of three daughters whose husband Dave was a Clarksville police officer who was killed in tragic accident.  Dave and his partner were killed almost instantly after a truck hit their police car causing it to spin out of control, hit a guardrail and catch fire.

After turning to - and receiving support - from a group called Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc. (C.O.P.S.), an organization dedicated to helping family survivors killed in the line of duty, Trina became its president.  She worked long hours for C.O.P.S. as well as a holding a full-time job to support her family.  Her home is in disrepair from termites and water damage and she’s already shelled out $20,000 to fix the damage.  So, while the Scott family vacationed in Disneyland, the EMHE team began efforts to give them a new home.

It was an eye-opener for Usher, who spent time with the children from the C.O.P.S. program and learned how quickly the kids go from surviving their own tragedies to helping others deal with their grief.

The Scott Family episode of EMHE airs 8:00 p.m. ET/PT tonight on ABC.
