On this day in 1970, M-G-M released BREWSTER McCLOUD. Directed by ROBERT ALTMAN from a script by DORAN WILLIAM CANNON, this was another of ALTMAN’s famous ensemble pieces. As much fantasy as comedy, the story centered around an owlish, intellectual boy who lives in a fallout shelter under the Houston Astrodome and dreams of flying. The amazingly huge cast included BUD CORT, SALLY KELLERMAN, MICHAEL MURPHY, WILLIAM WINDOM, SHELLEY DUVALL, RENE AUBERJONOIS and STACY KEACH.
