Alice when presented by the SyFy network isn’t exactly the Lewis Carroll version of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland you might remember - and it’s definitely not the kookie Disney animated feature.  This Alice is way more mature and Alice herself is a martial arts expert to boot.

It’s been given a makeover by Nick Willing, the same director who turned The Wizard of Oz on its ear with Tin Man, another SyFy movie event from 2007.

Philp Winchester, who plays Jack Chase in the made-for-TV flick, says yes it’s different, but still maintains the wacky array of characters featured in the book.  Clearly his role is an addition to those classic characters, but don’t ask him for extra details about the story because he holds back just enough to peak interest (Alice’s boyfriend, wink-wink).

Alice airs Sunday 9:00 p.m. ET/PT with repeat showings at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT and concludes Monday, 9:00 p.m. ET/PT with repeat showing at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on SyFy.

The movie also stars Caterina Scorsone as Alice, Kathy Bates as the Queen of Hearts, Matt Frewer as the White Knight and Colm Meaney as the King of Hearts.
