On this day in 1953, THE FILMMAKERS released THE BIGAMIST. Directed by and starring IDA LUPINO from a script by COLLIER YOUNG, this noir-ish drama might be the first to paint a sympathetic portrait of a man maintaining a family life with two women. JOAN FONTAIN and EDMOND O’BRIAN also star. Interesting in it’s look at the pre-EISENHOWER age and because LUPINO always did first-rate work.
