On this day in 1982, COLUMBIA PICTURES released TOOTSIE. Directed by SYDNEY POLLACK from a story by LARRY GELBART, this story of an out of work actor who disguises himself as a woman to get work made gender bending legit. DUSTIN HOFFMAN brilliantly took the titular role with solid back up from JESSICA LANGE, TERI GARR, DABNEY COLEMAN, CHARLES DURNING, BILL MURRAY and GEENA DAVIS. A comedy classic.
