"Find My Family" heads to Glendale, AZ to meet Jamie De Haven, an African-American, mother of three who was adopted as a baby by an all white family in Indiana. In Jamie's family, race was never an issue - there was nothing but love. In her heart and soul, Jamie always felt something was missing and dreamed of finding her birth mother. Working a full time job to try to make ends meet, she knew that her birth mother struggled financially and was forced to give her up for adoption. Although she knew her mother's name and even the address of the house where her mother lived at one time, Jamie's endless efforts over the years have come up empty. Now it's up to Tim, Lisa and the "Find My Family" investigative team to answer Jamie's prayers and find the mother she never knew, on "Find My Family," airing MONDAY, NOV. 30 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET), on the ABC Television Network. ABC’s new reality series Find My Family helps reconnect both biological parents and children for a weekly audience.
Journalist Lisa Joyner and former football pro Tim Green (both adopted) not only host the show, but have sought out their own biological parents. So they understand what sort of emotional upheaval it is for both parties.
But they’ve discovered, over the course of the episodes, how sensitive Find My Family is to the parties involved as they reunite people. In fact, the series is as thoughtful as their own intermediaries were when they were doing the searching.
This week Find My Family heads to Glendale, AZ to meet Jamie De Haven, An African-American, mother of three who was adopted as a baby by an all-white family in Indiana.
Click onto video for the personal stories from both LIsa Joyner and Tim Green as they searched for their biological parents before they ever thought of hosting the show Find My Family.
Find My Family airs Mondays, 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

I’m watching the show right now and am bawling my eyes out. I too was adopted and found my birth parents in 1994 accidently through a radio station (though I don’t believe in accidents anymore). My birth mom died a few months later of ovarian cancer and saved my life in the process. I’m so glad you are both adopted because you really understand!! THANK YOU…THANK YOU…THANK YOU for making such a beautiful show, sharing these stories and helping others understand!!

I tuned in for the first time last night as well as another friend and we both thought it was a great show. We are not adopted, but wanted to view the show from a genealogy aspect as we both belong to a Genealogical Society. I thank you for sharing these stories and hope others searching for their family or thinking of it will find peace and contentment in reaching out if they so choose. The adopted parents were wonderful people who seem to only want their child to be fulfilled and happy. Again, thank you AND I will be a regular viewer. P.S. my daughter watched last week and thought it was a wonderful show.

I have been following Tim’s career/books since I first read his book about his search. Professionally, I am a social worker working in adoptions, have done search and reunion and am an adoptive parent with tow children who joined our family through completely open adoptions. I wanted to share with you how positive this new show is and how respectful you are treating such a highly emotional issue. It is my hope that you will do follow up shows with the families you reunite and show how they have progressed with their relationships past the honeymoon phase of getting to know each other. Very well done without the Hollywood hype. Thank you for your important work.
Just personally to Tim I have always wanted to thank you for your book about your search. You remind me so much of my son, physically and he shares your personality. I have kept your book for him, I have donated one to the agency Iwork for, Adoption Options in Edmonton, Canada and I have the tape as well. He is an amazing yourn man and I know he will truely benefit from your book as so many others have. Thank you for your wonderful contribution to the adoption community.

I wish this could also happen for international adoptees who have been adopted into the U.S. and Canada as well. There is so little resources for international adoptees trying to find their families and it would be nice to see that happen as well.

I am now 42yrs. old. I have lived a very empty and confused life, always searching for what is missing in my soul. I have a husband, 4 children and three grandchildren now… so many things in them I do not see in either my husband or I. I always feel rejected in many ways and know this is because of being given away at only 6 days old. I was born January 26,1968, in Hamilton, Cincinnati, Ohio… If anyone can help me find my birth parents, PLEASE HELP ME…I need to know the unanswered questions. I need to feel like a normal complete person, I don’t know what that feels like. Thank-you!!
