On this day in 1948, MONOGRAM PICTURES released KIDNAPPED. Directed by WILLIAM BEAUDINE, this is probably the most loyal adaptation of the classic novel by ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON (despite the added love interest). An almost perfect action/adventure film, the cast included RODDY McDOWALL, SUE ENGLAND, DAN O’HERLIHY, ROLAND WINTERS, JEFF COREY and HOUSELEY STEVENSON.
