On this day in 1976, M-G-M released NETWORK. Directed by SIDNEY LUMET from a script by PADDY CHAYEFSKY, this cynical look at society and network television is as remarkable for it’s brilliant performances as it is for it’s prescience. Of all the kudos the film received, PETER FINCH’S Oscar win was, hands down, the most deserved. Other cast members are: FAYE DUNAWAY, WILLIAM HOLDEN, ROBERT DUVALL, NED BEATTY and CONCHATA FERRELL.
