On this day in 1958, WARNER BROTHERS PICTURES released FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON. Directed by BYRON HASKIN from the novels of JULES VERNE, this sci-fi classic is part of the great adventure films of the 50’s. Despite the fact that the film’s budget was slashed shortly after production started and all scenes taking place on the moon had to be eliminated, the film was an audience pleaser. The cast included JOSEPH COTTON, GEORGE SANDERS, DEBRA PAGET and PATRIC KNOWLES.
