With today’s release of Walt Disney’s THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, the studio returns to the kind of hand-drawn animation that made it great and that we thought had been lost to CGI technology forever. Don’t get us wrong, PIXAR has turned out some beautiful product but the glory days of feature animation is what made the Disney brand immortal. At the press conference for THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, Disney’s head honcho for animation, JOHN LASSITER, talked about the return to “hand drawn” and how it almost became a lost art. Listen in below:
