Hey! Have you heard the Dizzy Feet Foundation is having its inaugural Celebration of Dance event over the weekend? Of course you have because So You Think You Can Dance Executive Producer and Dizzy Feet Founder, Nigel Lythgoe has been plugging the gala for the past few weeks on his dance competition series - and he should.
Lythgoe is proud of the impact he’s had in the dance world with SYTYCD and he also knows helping kids who may not be able to afford classes as well as training teachers through the Dizzy Feet Foundation is important work.
Lythgoe is counting on Dizzy Feet, which he co-founded with Hairspray director, Adam Shankman, Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba and actress Katie Holmes, to reeducate the masses about the beauty and benefits of dance - as well as dispelling the myth that it’s not masculine. If he can accomplish that, Lythgoe will be satisfied.
So, what can we expect from the Celebration? All forms of dance from hip hop to ballet says Lythgoe, who won’t be dancing that night, but will be encouraging others to support the art form.
The Dizzy Feet Celebration of Dance fundraiser takes place Sunday, November 29th at the Kodak Theatre. Log onto www.dizzyfeetfoundation.org for more info on the organization.
So You Think You Can Dance airs Tuesdays and Wednesday nights, 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
