On this day in 1962, PARAMOUNT PICTURES released BLUE HAWAII. Directed by NORMAN TAUROG from a script by HAL KANTER, this ELVIS vehicle was a step above the usual stuff of ‘ELVIS MOVIES’. The great supporting cast included JOAN BLACKMAN, ANGELA LANSBURY, JOHN ARCHER (ANNE ARCHER’s father) and HILO HATTIE (who Hawaiian tourists know as a retail giant). We love this movie despite the ‘elvis-ness’ of it.
