On this day in 1958, PARAMOUNT PICTURES released HOUSEBOAT. Directed by MELVILLE SHAVELSON the film told the story of a widower trying to raise three kids and finding help in the form of an Italian socialite pretending to be a nanny. The all-star cast featured CARY GRANT, SOPHIA LOREN, MARTHA HYER, HARRY GUARDINO, MURRAY HAMILTON, PAUL PETERSON and WERNER KLEMPERER.
