Cynthia McFadden got a coveted interview with Martha Stewart, her first major interview since coming out of prison for lying to the feds.
Stewart has rebuilt her Martha Stewart Living empire after losing a fortune while she was incarcerated and now the economic downturn has made this a make-or-break time for her.
Nothing was off limits in the exchange, not even Stewart’s time behind bars. But, that was only a portion of what made the exchange between McFadden and Stewart so compelling. And McFadden says there were a number of things that actually surprised her.

“…since coming out of prison for lying to the feds.” This is a media lie…this is the fact, “since coming out of prison” ON CHARGES…” Martha Stewart went to prison because of grossly incompetent legal representation. She did no “lying to the feds”; no evidence existed of this. Not one word spoken by her was recorded in a verbatim transcript or in sworn testimony. This bogus charge would never have come into existence if she had competent legal representation. Ms. Stewart made a perfectly legal stock sale based on sound investment management principles as any serious investor; she owed nobody any explanation for the sale, and why she sold was nobody’s business, including the “feds.”
