TV Land is moving aggressively on their plan to develop scripted series for the network. They’ve landed movie, stage and TV actor, George Segal to star in the pilot for the sitcom, Retired at 35.

The series is set around a successful businessman who leaves the New York rat race behind to move in with his parents in their Florida retirement home.

Though the casting is still in the beginning stages, Segal is set to play the dad in the series. Segal was nominated for a Supporting Actor Academy Award for his performance in the 1966 drama Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? where he starred opposite, Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor and Sandy Dennis.  He has been seen most recently in the HBO comedy, Entourage, along with ABC’s Pushing Daisies and the NBC sitcom Just Shoot Me.

Retired at 35 is one of two pilots being done for TV Land. Hot in Cleveland is also in development for the network.
