Rock history is littered with stories about bruised egos, fights and separation, but that’s not the case for Bon Jovi, according to Jon Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi has been around since 1983 and only a couple of members have jumped ship; Alec John Such (who was actually bounced from the band) and David “The Snake” Sabo (replaced by Richie Sambora).
The band, however, has never had a moment when they wanted to call it quits, but they have wanted to branch out alone from time to time.

Bon Jovi considers Richie Sambora the original guitarist. According to Jon, Snake Sabo was never an official member of the band. Richie’s been with the band as long as it’s been Bon Jovi.
