Stephen J. Cannell has worked with iconic film and TV star James Garner for  years producing the classic detective series The Rockford Files, but more importantly, the two have been friends for even longer.

Cannell was obviously concerned when the actor had a stroke in 2008, but learned fast how resilient Garner is after a visit just weeks post-stroke and caught him putting golfballs.

Now Cannell has a role waiting for him when he’s completely back in the game.  And Garner has already said yes - though the project is still on the downlow.

Cannell is currently producing a big screen version of his hit television series, The A-Team.  The film, which stars Bradley Cooper, Liam Neeson, Jessica Biel, Patrick Wilson and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, is set for release in June of 2010.
