On this day in 1951, M-G-M released one of the greatest American movie musicals of all-time with AN AMERICAN IN PARIS. Directed by VINCENTE MINNELLI (Liza’s dad) from a story by ALAN JAY LERNER, this technicolor miracle starred GENE KELLY, LESLIE CARON, OSCAR LEVANT and NINA FOCH. Delightfully staged and acted, this film will always be considered a classic.
