Here’s something we didn’t see coming.  Both TV Guide Network and TV Land have acquired the joint basic cable rights to the HBO comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm.

This will be the first time viewers will be able to see the Emmy-winning show on basic cable; where the lead character is just about the most emotionally vacant man on TV.

Larry David (Seinfeld co-creator, executive producer, writer) stars as a fictionalized version of himself; a man who offends his friends and co-workers, makes hugely inappropriate remarks and has generally offensive behavior.

Let’s hope it’s not toned down for basic cable.

Curb Your Enthusiasm will air on TV Guide Network for a multi-year run starting February 2010. TV Land will begin airing the series in TV Land PRIME immediately following TV Guide Network’s term.
