Susan Lucci, one of the baddest women in daytime dramas (Erica, All My Children) will make her way down Hollywood Boulevard as the 2009 Grand Marshall of the Hollywood Christmas Parade.

The yearly event is an even bigger deal this year because this is the first time in 80 years that the Hollywood Christmas Parade will be televised nationally as a two-hour event.  And Lucci is looking forward to taking that lead seat.

“I am thrilled and honored to serve as the Grand Marshal of the 2009 Hollywood Christmas Parade,” the actress says adding, “I am so happy that this year’s parade will be telecast for the first time ever as a two-hour primetime television event, spreading holiday cheer and happiness to Americans across the country.  The Hollywood Christmas Parade is for children and families, both of whom are very important to me in my personal life.”

The Parade is for a good cause, too.  Proceeds from the telecast will benefit Feed the Children, a nonprofit relief organization that delivers food, medicine, clothing and more to individuals, children and families in need.

The Hollywood Christmas Parade takes place Sunday, November 29th, 2009 beginning 6:00 p.m. PT and will air on MyNetworkTV December 10th, 2009 with a repeat showing on Christmas Eve.

Lucci will also get an opportunity to check out the weather in Los Angeles prior to All My Children’s move to California beginning in January 2010.
