On this day in 1964, PARAMOUNT PICTURES released ROUSTABOUT. Directed by JOHN RICH from a screenplay by ANTHONY LAWRENCE, this film promised ELVIS PRESLEY as a ”roving, restless, reckless, ROUSTABOUT” and managed to deliver almost none of those alliterative R’s. ELVIS plays a singer who hooks up with a small time carnival and as bad as the film is, it still sports a cast that includes BARBARA STANWYCK, LEIF ERICKSON, SUE ANN LANGDON and JACK ALBERTSON. We can only wonder what these people were thinking.
