How do you play a bickering couple that have been married 65 years? If your comedy duo, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, you draw on your own lengthy marriage for inspiration. And that’s precisely what they did while starring on the new TV drama Mercy.

Stiller and Meara play Joey and Estelle Thalberg who find themselves in the hospital after an argument causes Estelle to literally stroke out.
Stiller & Meara have been married over a half century and according to the comic team, it’s taken years of counseling to understand the secrets behind a successful marriage.
Just seeing them interact, however, makes it clear that a sense of humor is first on the list to keep a relationship strong.
