Jim Carrey used nearly 10 different types of voices for his new animated feature of the classic Charles Dickens‘ tale, A Christmas Carol. That’s enough to drive the average actor over the edge…but not Carrey.

He credits co-star, Cary Elwes, with keeping him focused. The actor stood opposite the comic for each scene whether he was scheduled to work or not.  In addition, Elwes gave him pointers on dialects, which is something that he has mastered.

Carrey also shared a fun tidbit about Elwes‘ family history, which was intertwined with Charles DickensA Christmas Carol storytelling.

A Christmas Carol, which stars not only Carrey and Elwes, but also Gary Oldman and Bob Hoskins, opens this Friday, November 6th, 2009.
