Fledgling series, the forgotten has a distinctive look that seems to breathe life into the show’s subject matter of giving identities to unknown deceased bodies.

How do they do it?  According to this mini-doc just released by ABC, the forgotten’s look is due to the cinematographer, David Stockton, who understands how to create a mood.

Though the documentary is clearly a promotional vehicle, the artful way Stockton evokes emotion is stunningly impressive.

the forgotten airs Tuesday nights, 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
