On this day in 1963, COLUMBIA PICTURES released THE OLD DARK HOUSE. Directed by legendary showman WILLIAM CASTLE from the book by J.B. PRIESTLEY, this told the story of an American car salesman who receives a mysterious invitation from an eccentric  English millionaire and then finds himself stuck in a mansion. Not a remake of the classic JAMES WHALE film of the same name and not very good but interesting because of the cast that included TOM POSTON, ROBERT MORLEY, JANETTE SCOTT, JOYCE GRENFELL and PETER BULL.old-dark-house
