Most of the movies this week are either rereleases or expanded distribution, which is probably in anticipation of the Michael Jackson documentary filled with rehearsal footage from his ill-fated London tour, This Is It. Smart move considering it nabbed $2 million domestically for its first day in theaters and will probably pack houses over the next three days as well.

Still, if you’d rather have the bejesus scared out of you for Halloween weekend instead, you can’t go wrong with any of the other re-entries.

The Final Destination is also descending back into theaters for what is probably not even close to the final installment of the successful franchise about cheating the Grim Reaper.

Then there’s Paranormal Activity, which took its rightful place as the most profitable movie ever.  How?  It cost 15 grand to produce and has grossed $66 million to date.

And speaking of dates, Paranormal Activity is sure to cause a terrified squeeze or two between couples watching the pic so have at it.  Nothing like a little demonic presence for All Hallow’s Eve.  The film has been added to an additional 400-plus screens nationally.
