Nearly a year before he even announced his candidacy for President, BARACK OBAMA allowed producer EDWARD NORTON and directors AMY RICE & ALICIA SAMS into his inner circle to shoot a documentary about the behind-the-scenes workings of a political campaign. The result, BY THE PEOPLE: THE ELECTION OF BARACK OBAMA, is one of the most thrilling docs to hit the screen this year. The film will debut on HBO next Tuesday and, at a recent press conference, OBAMA campaign worker RONNIE CHO talked about the timing of the release. (Click on the media bar for audio):

Personal politics aside, this documentary will deservedly be looked at as both compelling entertainment and an important historical document.
