On this day in 1993, BUENA VISTA PICTURES released A NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. Directed by HENRY SELICK from a story by producer TIM BURTON, this musical film is already considered a ‘classic’ holiday tale and is a perennial favorite. Largely responsible for a reinterest in stop-motion animation, the film featured a talented voice cast that included DANNY ELFMAN, CHRIS SARANDON, CATHERINE O’HARA, WILLIAM HICKEY, GREG PROOPS and PAUL REUBENS.
