On this day in 1959, COLUMBIA PICTURES released THE MOUSE THAT ROARED. A Brit import, it was directed by JACK ARNOLD and told the story of how the Duchy of Fenwick, an impoverished nation, declared war on America so they could lose and petition for financial aid. Starring in the film are PETER SELLERS (in several roles), JEAN SEBERG, WILLIAM HARTNELL and LEO McKERN. This was Cold War satire of the first order.
