SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE: Mia Michaels has resigned from the U.S. version of the popular dance show on FOX. ©2009 Fox Broadcasting Co. Cr: Michael Williams/FOX.
Say it ain’t so! Mia Michaels, the butt-kicking, no-nonsense choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance has quit - and she announced it via Twitter and Facebook.
So You Think You Can Dance Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe as well as judges Adam Shankman and Mary Murphy all had something to say about the Emmy-winning choreographer leaving the hit show.
Lythgoe says her Tweets and Facebook posts are overblown and reflect the U.S. version of SYTYCD - and even that doesn’t mean she’ll be gone forever. Lythgoe points out that Michaels is still set to begin on the international SYTYCD shows.
SYTYCD judge, Adam Shankman believes Michaels will be back, but she just needs time off to flex other creative muscles.
Judge Mary Murphy’s not so sure. The Scream Queen admits this isn’t the first time Michaels has threatened leave the production.
Question is, will it be forever? Perhaps the accelerated schedule from the summer to a fall program took its toll on Michaels.
