With it’s latest release, CIRQUE DU FREAK: THE VAMPIRE’S ASSISSTANT, it appears that the braintrust at UNIVERSAL MARKETING has botched another one. Opening at a dismal #8 on the box-office charts, the film took in a weak $6.35 M on about 2700 screens. Sad for a monster movie at Halloween to be so alone. But the really sad thing is that this could have worked into a franchise for the studio. This is based on a twelve book saga after all. And, with a cast that included JOHN C. RILEY, SALMA HAYEK, MICHAEL CERVERIS, PATRICK FUGET, JOSH HUTCHERSON and CHRIS MASSOGLIA it certainly doesn’t lack talent. In fact, when we spoke recently with HAYEK, she talked about working with the talented young cast. Listen in below:
CIRQUE DU FREAK: THE VAMPIRE’S ASSISTANT is in theaters now (But we’re thinkin’ you’d better hurry if you want to see it)
